My story
My name is Kunle Solomon Omogbemi. Most people call me Kunle Solomon. 25 years ago I began my career running my own business in the educational sector, health and nutrition space and entertainment industry. In the health and nutrition space, I was responsible for supplying organically sourced fresh nutritional beverages to small businesses and my customers. As an Academic, I have worked as an educational consultant.
Growing up I loved doing two things more than anything else. Music and helping others. It’s been constant since I was a very young boy. It’s part of my personal culture at this point in my life. I believe that’s the root of my various leadership positions back in school, church and the various responsibilities I’ve taken on over the years. I enjoy working with teams as that’s the collaborative part of what I enjoy most as a musician, educator, music director and business owner. Even as an educator, I love working with my team of amazing professors and students. It is something I alway look forward to. As a team player I am particularly interested in the development of my band members, students, colleagues, clients and associates. I love challenges and enjoy solving problems together as a team. It is the way that I do my best work. I do multiple things that I love and feel passionate about. My personality is dynamic. I am an Artist, a researcher, lecturer, saxophonist, vocalist, composer, a recording artist, writer, mentor, tutor, coach, a people manager, a management consultant, product developer, entrepreneur and communication specialist.
Mainly I am a saxophonist and singer-songwriter with a gospel music band. I was a music director at my local church where I mentored musicians, played the saxophone as the lead saxophonist, and lead soloist and sang with the choir. I did this simultaneously with earning my multiple degrees, running my own business and touring with other world-class musicians as an instrumentalist and vocalist.
I work as a researcher, lecturer and the coordinator of the Open Science Academy of the WSB University in Dabrowa Gornicza, Poland.
Professionally I have worked in many diverse capacities. I have composed many songs and am currently working on my studio album. I have enjoyed touring as a musician and performing with so many different gospel artists and bands like Instruments of Praise, the LivingThoughts Music, the Glorious voices, the Sunshine Septet, The Fantastics also known as Fantastic 5. My music has taken me across Nigeria, Romania, UK, Sweden, Netherlands, Denmark, Belgium, Estonia, Poland, and Finland as a musician and organizer. My live performance with the Sunshine Septet music band was featured on Estonia TV (ETV).
I consider myself as someone who is able to adapt having lived in different parts of the world and easily connect to new people and harmonize with new situations. I like to have a clear goal as that helps me stay focused on the things that matter to me. I like change and dynamic conditions as it matches perfectly with how my mind works. I love challenges and feel driven by achieving them. As much as I care about getting things done efficiently as this fits my fast-paced lifestyle, I love helping others more and making sure they are doing ok. You will most likely catch me goofing about with friends, associates, colleagues or my students. I balance out gravity with levity. I’ll do anything to see that those around me feel good.
I use my gift to help others. I provide mentorship and facilitate personal development for the youths. This means that over the years I have offered different services either paid or voluntary to people across the globe in actively promoting mentorship amongst teenagers, and young adult people. The goals and objectives were to meet the specific need of helping these individuals and groups achieve personal and professional satisfaction and growth by empowering and uplifting them to feel confident and content in themselves and their work. I have facilitated many seminars, workshops, lectures in Africa, Asia and Europe, and spoke at international conferences across the globe.
The best way in which I express my gifts musically is by composing original songs, or rearranging existing songs while adding my signature styles to them, playing the saxophone and singing. I enjoy writing poems, inspirationals quotes and speaking to people to bring laughter into their lives.
Learning new things, sharing knowledge, and supporting others has always been a big part of my personality. I love traveling around the world to connect with other musicians, academics and researchers to learn, collaborate and share. I was recently in the UK to collaborate with a gospel artist (say the name of the artist). I also just returned from Lagos Nigeria to successfully finalize a five year ERASMUS partnership that I spearheaded between my alma mata the Lagos State University Ojo Badagry, Lagos Nigeria and my university WSB University in Dabrowa Gornicza Poland where I teach. Whether it is teaching my students, performing concerts, playing my saxophone, singing or learning from other professors and associates, learning and caring for others has always been a big part of my life. It is how I recharge. It is how I get inspired.
